Creating 33 miles of linear greenspace connecting more than 40 of Atlanta’s parks and neighborhoods, the BeltLine Trail system will feature a continuous active transportation and recreation system for the City of Atlanta.  The first portion of the BeltLine Park system to be designed and constructed is the 2.06 acre park in southwest Atlanta known as Gordon White BeltLine Park.  As an existing greenspace, Gordon White Park was redesigned to include Atlanta’s BeltLine Trail, a street level plaza for community festivals, an open lawn for passive recreation, seating areas for park users to enjoy, sustainable stormwater bioinfiltration areas to contain the site’s stormwater, and a planting plan supportive of the BeltLine Arboretum’s theme for the area.
